Overview: This month’s meeting will be held at Atascadero’s Historic City Hall. Construction of the Historic City Hall began in 1914 and was completed in 1918. The Building was first used as the center of the Colony of Atascadero. The building has also housed a college and was used as a Veteran’s Memorial Building. In 2003, the building sustained significant damage in the San Simeon Earthquake. After being closed for 10 years, and undergoing extensive renovations and retrofitting, the building re-opened in August 2013. The project construction management firm, Bernards, will discuss the renovation and the challenge of restoring a nearly 100 year old building.
